Very grumpy start to the day. Things got better as the day went on. Very happy about how my legs feel. Sore but no pain. Also, upon a closer look at my workout yesterday, I'm a bit happier about the effort. Though harder than I would have liked for the pace at least it was even over the distance. This morning was just a Mt. Calvary commute run.

Nice work yesterday on the tough work out. It's a positive feeling to know your legs respond well the day after and don't feel too bad. I'm glad things are looking up for you in your training.

As you know better than any of us, you take what you are given and have to be thankful for it. Your attitude acts as a constant and positive reinforcement of this. Thank you.

Are you looking to run a marathon this year?

From Adam RW on Wed, May 11, 2011 at 00:12:45 from 24.10.132.131

I am struggling with that decision. Last year was very hard on me not racing. The fact that I'm starting to run again has me a little scared about getting hurt again. I'm going to run a half in June and then take it from there. My main goal right now is to just keep enjoying the running and not jump back in too quickly.

I agree taking it a step by step progression is the best way for your comeback. If a Half is successful than a marathon can be on the horizon. You might consider two Half Marathon's than that will build the confidence for a good marathon time. Although I've never had good advice.

My plan is to keep doing 10k's to maybe prepare for a half in November. I don't think a marathon is going to happen this year. Have a lot of people trying to convince me to try and do the home town marathon, but they don't know how hard it's been. I'm not looking for a amazing storybook ending this year. I just want to be NOT hurting.

The multiple halves would definitely be easier on the body.

I like your 10K plan with maybe a November half marathon. Though I'm sure it would be awesome for you to run the full I agree that there is no need for this year to be the storybook ending. That being said I already think your story is a storybook ending in that you are racing so soon. Maybe just a long run on the 1yr anniversary would be just as victorious?
