I'll say it felt a little better this morning. I made it all the way into work. It is hard to say if it was the drugs or the stretching though. I'm supposed to do them 4-5X per day and so far so good. I'll just keep looking forward and hope that it was just this SI joint misalignment and will go away as quickly as it popped up on me...

Good luck Adam ... sorry to hear about this.

Hope it goes away quickly too, how frustrating! Sounds a little better today though. On the bright side, your sleep volume seems to have increased.

Adam, sorry to hear about your injury. I was just checking back on your blog to see if you were knocking out 80+ mpw. Sounds like the increase in mileage might have caused the injury (same thing happens to me). I think we all can understand the frustration that you are feeling. I'm still recovering from my calf strain; that is, I feel pretty good on slow 13-18 mile runs, but I have not been able to do any speed work or increase my mileage that much. Anyways, I hope you heal quickly!

Bonnie, Thank you. Just trying to take one day at a time.

JD, I think I'd take the running over the sleep but thanks for the positive spin.

John, Thanks for the assessment. I was very careful last year not to go over 80 mpw. After TOU I took an 8 wk ramp up back to 60+ and then spent 6 wk at 70+ prior to trying the two 80 mpw. I'm still struggling that the mileage was the problem. In Feb two years ago I was already doing 85+. My plan was to try and mirror my training from that time. I guess my base wasn't as strong???... I guess I may never know. The main point is that it is probably biomechanics because it is always the same leg. Most likely (>75%) I'm not going to race SLC anymore though...

Sorry to hear of your injury. I hadn't read your blog in a while, and was surprised to see it. As they say, Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, he eats you. So true when it comes to running. That fact that this kind of mileage didn't hurt you in the past probably isn't too meaningful, and I doubt you made a big mistake somewhere either. Sometimes your number is just up.

I can relate in how your pain seemed to get worse AFTER you stopped running. I've had that happen a few times. But PT has always worked for me (3 for 3), so hopefully you're on the right track.

Hang in there Adam.

Paul, Thank you. You are an inspiration for working through whatever is thrown your way.

Clyde, Thank you. I seem to be gaining a little footing.
