In to work early for a meeting. Then home to watch my older daughter while Sandra took my younger daughter to the doctor for her 2-month check-up. I just did some easy treadmill miles while we watched Word World. I tried the random hill mode today which was a good way to spice it up. I typically have just done flat and either one speed or adjusted it myself. It was good to use some of the other features on the treadmill considering we've had it for two years now.

Nice run. I usually set my treadmill on a 1% or 2% incline. But like you I've never really played with the programs and we've had ours over a year now. What percentage does the hill mode incline go up to?

Hows the grant process going? Did you ever hear back from your proposal's?

I hope life is well for you.

Kory, For this particular run it went up to 4%. It ranges from 0.7% up. It changed about every 30sec-1.5min. For my treadmill there is a start set and I think it adjusts the range by that. I think there are 10 levels and I chose the middle 5.

I won't find out about the grants until June. Science is like marathon training. Hours and hours of work for one big day far down the line. Definitely a job of delayed gratification. The biggest "buzz kill" is that I put in all those hours and the full grant may never be read by anybody. Essentially in May a committee gets together. Say there are 5 people per group. Each get 5 grants and choose two discuss of those 10 grants maybe 3 get funded... But the first person may only read the abstract and triage the grant at that point...

I really hope the hours you spend on the gran payoff. You deserve it. If not you've definitely increased your writing skills. That's something I need to improve on.

Good luck and I'll try to keep hopping in and out of your life.
