Short-Term Running Goals:

Get back under 3 for my next marathon, September 2018; Berlin!

A friend of mine recently brought to my attention "Team for Kids".
This group is part of the New York Road Runners (NYRR) club.

He has run for them in the past. People who run for Team for Kids commit to raising money that is then used to fund school-based and free youth events around the United States to help the youth of America adopt healthy lifestyles through running and fitness.

- Since 2002, Team for Kids has raised more than $57,000,000.

- This money has been used to support programs reaching more than 267,000 children nationwide.

- This funding, in addition to the items listed above, helps pay for training of teachers and coaches, program and practice supplies, and student incentives.

- For most of these kids, running with a NYRR program is their only opportunity to get exercise or play sports.

This year I will be running for this effort as a charity participant in the Berlin Marathon. My fundraising goal is $2,000.

Please help me make this goal by contributing to the following: https://runwithtfk.org/Donate/Member/56641

Long-Term Running Goals:

Enjoy being a Master's Runner.

Dear Family and Friends,

On Sept. 16th, 2018, I will be participating in the BMW Berlin Marathon, Germany to raise money through Team for Kids for New York Road Runners youth programs. Although it will be a challenge, I will be especially motivated knowing that it will benefit such a worthy cause. This week is a special week as it officially begins my 18 week training program.

NYRR youth programs, Rising New York Road Runners, serve 267,000 students locally and nationally through free NYRR youth running programs, events, and resources. These programs promote healthy lifestyles and empower youth development via running and character-building programs in schools and community centers nationwide. As the primary goal of the research I perform at UAB is to impact the effect of diabetes on the heart, it is important to know that exercise is a leading prevention and treatment of diabetes and its complications.

My goals are to complete the race and to meet my personal goal to raise $2,000 for NYRR youth programs. You may choose to make a pledge of $20, $50, or even more. My fundraising page can be found at the following link (https://runwithtfk.org/Donate/Member/56641).

UPDATED: Wed, July 18, 2018.
We have raised $920/$2,000 so almost halfway there.
DEADLINE: Wed, Sept 15, 2018.

Your donation is fully tax deductible, all of it will go to the charity, and you will receive an email letter of acknowledgment for your tax records.

Please join me in supporting this cause and get kids running toward a brighter, healthier future!

All the best,
Adam

P.S. Want to double your donation? Ask your employer if they have a matching gift program!
