AM: Commute run. A little toasty for so early in the morning.

Avg. 8:49 Mi. 2.5

PM: Surprise, surprise, I actually had a workout tonight. I did the TTT, Tuesday Time Trial. This was a run of the Adam's TT 5K on the Course Tool. I had a normal 10 hr day and then after I got the girls down and my wife got back from back to school night I headed out the door. There is a one mile warmup from my house. 8:10 HR 138 and then started down Sunnyside from Foothill.

Mile 1: 5:23.45 HR 172 Descent 156 ft Ascent 38 ft
Mile 2: 5:35.14 HR 179 Descent 242 ft Ascent 160 ft
Mile 3: 5:43.05 HR 185 Descent 125 ft Ascent 87 ft
Mile 0.1: 0:38.68 HR 186 Descent 28 ft Ascent 12 ft

TOTAL: 17:20.32 Avg. 5:35 HR 179 Descent 551 ft Ascent 298 ft

Then two miles up 21st South home. 8:03 HR 163

Overall very happy with the run. It was pushing as can be seen from the HR. But I felt good afterwards. A really cool observation is that by the Course Tool and Sasha's amazing even effort calculator I was almost spot on! 1 sec off on the first mile, 4 sec off on the second mile, spot on the third mile and 4 sec off on the last piece.

I like the one pull-up this morning. With the soggy grass was there at least some sprinklers to run through?

From allie on Wed, Aug 24, 2011 at 09:07:07 from 24.10.191.18

oh yes, plenty of sprinklers...

excellent PM workout yesterday. looks like you hit everything just right.

Nice time trial Adam!

Allie, The sprinklers definitely come in handy on those warmer days.

Jake, Thank you. I only wish I was running the TOU 1/2 this weekend. From Andrea's recent 5K it looks like we could have been working with each other... I hope you both have fun with it. Have you announced a time goal? I'm sure your 1:10 will be smashed. The only question is by how much?

From Jake K on Wed, Aug 24, 2011 at 11:32:25 from 155.100.226.53

Yeah I think Andrea would definitely have benefited from having you in the race. Hopefully there will be someone near her to give her a push.

FYI - we're going to try to setup a 5K "race" on the track in about a month. I'll keep you in the loop if you're interested in something free, flat, and fast!

I have a range of time goals, but I'm just going to see how the race plays out. I want to compete well, that's the primary objective. But I think sub 1:06 is a possibility and that would make me pretty happy!

From Adam RW on Wed, Aug 24, 2011 at 11:35:39 from 155.101.152.123

I would be interested in the 5K. The only thing that kept me out of another half marathon was my low mileage recently. I usually like to be in the 50-60 range...

I am glad you threw out the possibility of a 1:05 and change. Looking over the previous years results and what you have been running recently that is definitely what I had in mind. With the added push of having your family in town...
