I can definitely tell that the school year has started again. I had one meeting and three seminars to go to. I skipped one of the seminars so that I could have a few hours to get some "real work" done. I think I am in denial that next weekend is the marathon. The half went well a couple weeks ago but since then has just been go-go-go on everything but running. I'm still concerned about this lack of consistent base and any real workouts. Next weekend will be about fun and getting one under the belt to get momentum for a spring marathon is what I think. A&W commute run.

I went in the last two weeks of my marathon so busy at work that running was not even a thought for the marathon. I think this was an advantage because you don't have time to re-think anything. Like you said running it for fun is what it's about. I will pray for you. I thought about running top of Utah next week too but don't know yet.

Hi Kory, Thank you. Being distracted definitely helps relieve the taper stress. Keep me posted if you end up coming down. Sorry I just noticed now that you ran a marathon last weekend! Probably best not to run next weekend but if it is for fun what are a few long runs in a row :) Blogging has definitely taken a backseat with the travel and work obligations the last two weeks.

Well you haven't lost any fitness b/w the half and now... I like your idea of going into this w/out any huge expectations, and then you might just surprise yourself. Run with patience early, and I think you'll be able to have a really good marathon.
