Non-running blog spot. My knee actually hurts more this morning than yesterday? Most likely stress. As the year nears an end I reevaluate where I am on my career development and I'm still a good stop away from an independent move. Not a big problem as I'm only half way through this stage in my career but for whatever reason it is sitting heavy on me. Most likely due to the continued inability to run pain free, an addition to the household, and general obsessive personality. I did contact a PT last night in hopes to get evaluated this week. We'll see...

The knee is such a mystery when there's pain. Do your quads have any soreness or pain? Your really going to be inspired when you start to run again.

Career decisions or evaluations are mental testers. I really wished I had the mental toughness right now to further my education. I was taking class three semesters ago, but it was taking up to much family time and I was getting stressed so I've stopped for over a year. All I have is an Associates Degree in Computer Programming Software Engineering. I'm working towards my Bachelor's right now, but still have along ways to go.

Kory, Thanks for checking in on me. It has been hard and this knee has been a pain. The PT got back to me and I'm supposed to meet with her later this week. She is a marathon runner herself so I'm hoping she will understand both the mental and physical pains of this injury.

As far as a higher degree... I think if you enjoy what you do you may not need it. Wanting to do "independent" research I was always told that a PhD was required. That is only partly true. The real thing for me though is I never stopped to think about it I just went straight through. For you, you have other things in your life and as long as you like what you do you can still learn in day-to-day life and probably only need the additional degree if that is a goal in itself. I could be wrong but I've seen people do amazing things in computer programming with little or no "formal" training.

I was talking to my boss (who also does my massages) and if I want a managerial role which they want to line me up for in the future I need a Bachelor's degree. But like you said, I enjoy doing the work right now and not the delegating. When you start to delegate the projects out than you do forget/lose your programming and hardware skills because your not around it as much.

Right now I like what I do, but I would like to further my status someday.

That's great about your PT being a marathoner. That can only help and better your situation.

I'm almost thinking of taking sometime off running after this HM that I'm running on November 1st just to re-focus and see what's next.

Hey I have to check up on you to see if your staying out of trouble, and plus your a great guy and I enjoy our communication.
