Single: 7:15pm easy run. I was planning 12 in 2 runs but opted for the extra hour sleep. The extra work this week did pay a toll on me mentally. I did get another 7hrs of sleep and the day, though full, went relatively smoothly. My quads are still aching and haven’t been 100% since Del Sol, but the marathon is still a good five weeks away so I want them to feel tired the next three weeks. Miles-10 R1 Avg. 7:32 HR 132

Adam- I think your smart and using very good wisdom taking the extra rest. I can see how your quads are still sore, because of the way you plowed up those hills which was amazing.

My work has been crazy this week. I had to rush getting a system configured by next Monday, which had all kinds of issues with the CPU overheating, drives failing. If it wasn't ready by next Monday our University would lose $16,000. I've had extra work hours this week, but real early bed times. But I finished getting the system ready today.

Analyzing and troubleshooting can really take a toil on you mentally. In your field I can see that happening a lot.

Are you doing any tune-up race before the Salt Lake Marathon?

Kory, Sorry to hear you are sharing my week of work trouble woes. I'm glad that you got it covered. I think it would be tougher in your posistion to have to be sitting in front of a computer or server all day. I'm usually up at my bench and moving between labs so I get to move around a little.

I normally like to run a half at pace three weeks out but another workout I like and have done in the past is 10xmile on the track with quarter rest at about 5 sec faster than pace to pace (5:50-5:55; this time around). It is a great confidense builder if you hit it well. So I may do that one instead. I'm going to run the Striders' 10-miler tomorrow. I initially had some pretty lofty goals for it but the weather is supposed to be crap and with the way the week has gone stress wise and my legs still feeling very flat we'll see...
