Single: I was wiped out this week. I couldn't get out of bed this morning. When I finally got up made breakfast for the family and then went into work for awhile. Later had some family errands and then a carnival to attend. After bed time did my old home loop. Knee about the same. I think I'm going to just keep my mileage here until it feels better and then work up, we shall see... Mi 6-R3

Your smart to maintain where your at until you feel comfortable to step it up. Because only you know when things are right and really no one can tell you any different.

Family comes first too. I set my training aside for my family, because my running doesn't benefit them. I looking forward for tomorrow's day-off of training.

You might think about getting into someone with the full tool-kit. They've got small, little implements of torture that may better be able to reach under the patella etc. Also, they'll like treat your whole leg.

Eric, There is a PT here on campus that I saw when I was dealing with periformis syndrome in '06 that can do ASTYM, I'll see if I can get in with him. I'm just blanking on his name right now.

Kory, I try my best. Somedays I feel better than others about how I maintain my balance. Yesterday was more of a family day for me. Today I'm stuck at work because of a meeting tomorrow (I'm a last minute kind of person...). My legs were pretty sore this morning after some self deep muscle work last night so today will be off and tomorrow I'll do a short double. See where it goes from there. Are you going to take advantage of the elite water stops this year?

From Adam RW on Sep 14, 2008 at 15:03:51

Eric, I just remembered the PTs name it is Dave Larson, there is also a PT named Lee Dibble that looks like he may be able to get me in. Do you know anything about either of them?

From wheakory on Sep 14, 2008 at 18:29:36

Adam - I didn't get a call to have an elite water stop. But I did email their staff yesterday to see if I could.

Adam, All I know is that the body has strange ways sometimes at coping with stress and overuse. Sometimes I wonder if it is like some sort of governor control that anticipates and keeps the body from self-destructing. Does that kind of make sense?

From Adam RW on Sep 14, 2008 at 21:28:40

Kory, I'm sure they will give you the elite water stops. Especially after your win last the other week.

Steve, You hit the nail on the head. (I'm sure my lurking mom would agree.). With my work ramping up with two meetings, grant deadlines, and a couple manuscripts in the works I think my body said enough is enough already. I sure hope your back clears up quickly. For me hot epsum salt baths work the best...

Adam, sorry for the long response time. No, I don't know of Dave Larson. I used the ASTYM website to find local providers and he didn't come up.
