Single: Overall a good run (my knee hurt the whole time, but a good run). It RAINED!!! That is always a nice way to start the run. It sprinkled lightly on me for about half the run. There were also about 5 other runners out on a course that I usually just see bikers on during the week. Ran out to the other side of Parley's and back (up out; down back). On the way back my run was timed perfectly to watch the sunset. I turned around when the sun had not yet reached the horizon. Then during the first mile back I got to watch the whole thing from "touching the earth" to going completely out of sight. Always nice to watch. Mi 6-R3

That had to be a beautiful site the way you described it. I hope your knee was giving you sharp pains. Your real wise to take it easy this week to let the knee heal and gain some freshness back in it. I hate knee problems there's so many issues that you can have with them.

Great run and I hope that knee gets better.

Good to hear you had a good run.

How's your knee feeling tonight? I hope your getting rest?

Kory, Thanks for checking in. About the same. Unfortunately I do have some sharp pain. It is strange but the more time I rest the worse it seems to get. I'm super swamped at work this week but I'm hoping to go talk to the orthopedist again. Josse recommended the chiro that she sees but I don't know when I'll have time to go down to see him. I'll just stay focused on positive thoughts and be thankful for what is going right and the small changes I am seeing. At least the weather has been perfect so that the little bit of running I can do has been great.

I'm wondering if it's associated with a weak quad. You could try doing some strength training on the knee and quad.

My wife had a sharp knee pain and I took her to a Physical Therapist and she had to go through physical therapy to strength the quad that was causing the knee pain. This eventually healed the problem.

It's good to stay positive, because you have so many positive things in your life (great Family/Career and a bright future). Running is just a hobby and great for fitness which is a small portion of the good things in life.

I look at St. George as a positive race and a just for fun race. I've already accomplished what I wanted to this year and if St. George gets me a 2:30 than that's an added bonus. You also accomplished a great race in SLC Marathon in the terrible conditions so go into St. George having fun.

Your right being positive is important. I'm sorry your swamped at work, but hopefully it's not stressful just busy. You take care.

Not sure about a weak quad but I'll look into anything. I've always had issues with this leg. It just comes in different forms. In fact this last training cycle was my longest injury free (i.e. all the PRs this year). That being said my wife keeps reminding me of the same thing you said about your year. We've already accomplished so much be thankful for that and everything else is just icing on the cake... Thanks again.
