VERY tired and still one more grant to go. The day was a fun break though. We co-op at Kaitlyn's school and I got to go and play with all the 2yr olds this morning. Then into lab for a little more bench work and then back to grant number two. Soon it will all be over and back to just the "normal" workload. As reward for getting the first grant done I went home a half hour early and ran outside pushing Kaitlyn.

I read your entries about grants, wondering what dept you are in and what you work on and if we have met... I am a biochem professor at Utah State. I am chartered on PCMB NIH study section so am madly reviewing grants right now for February meeting. Wish I was writing something instead!

Hi Scott, Something tells me we met once. I recognize your face from your blog but am horrible with names. I'm a post-doc in the new Molecular Medicine department formerly Human Molecular Biology and Genetics. The grant I submitted today was for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund. The next grant is for the American Heart Association. I can say that this was a new experience for me. The JDRF was the first grant with a "real" budget. But despite the pain, I've enjoyed taking time to think about my research for once, instead of just doing it...

I am planning to run the DN 10K this year. maybe we can meet up if you are recovered and run it. kind of a crazy race with the chaotic start and insane downhill. good luck on the postdoc and getting the grants funded. Scott
