Well I finally got my 8hrs of sleep. Thanks to those of you still checking up on me. I've noticed my visitor number has halved, oh well. Not too much fun hearing one complain about injuries. The good news is I'm coming to grips with the injury and will just focus on hard PT etc. The thing that amazes me the most is how quickly my life took a 180... The thing I have to remember is that things are still going well, just in a different part of my life. Look at the title and remember that balance can switch from time-to-time. After getting into work early this morning I left about an hour early and did a run with Kaitlyn to say hi to the geese. The whole way she was asking for seagulls and there was a single gull at the pond, lucky her. Mi 4-T3

How is the knee today. I'm glad everything else is going well. Adam like you I have no expectations in this race. Just go out hard and see what happens. I'm confident, and really have already accomplished a lot this year.

I'm excited because my 12 year old daughter is going to come with me. She finished 3rd in the all city XC race yesterday for 7th graders. She wanted to watch the marathon and see me come in.

Kory, You are so right about focusing on what else great has happened this year. I've PRed at every distance I've raced. At 30 I smoked all my records set as a 22 year old. The other good news and as you will see on Friday is that we are expecting daughter number 2 in December. So in both family and in recreation I have had a fantastic year that is not even mentioning that work has gone great the last few months with two meeting abstracts excepted, two middle author papers published, and more on the way. I just have to tell myself that one more injury in the series of injuries will pass and make me just that much more passionate to get back to where I was 6-wks ago. But enough of the self pep talk. To answer your question the knee still hurts. I've gone back and forth about not even going down this weekend but decided that I want to at least start and help the team if I can by trying to help pace Michelle. I'm not sure if I have it in me but I'll go for that and if things turn sour I will bag it and just enjoy a weekend in southern UT with my family...

And this, too, shall pass away...

I hope you have fun with you family in St George
